apply for the Au Pair Visa at the German Embassy in your
native country. For that purpose you need a letter of
invitation, that is a contract of employment with your host
family. You may have to wait up to three months until the
visa is granted. Therefore you should apply for being Au
Pair as soon as possible.

If you meet the above mentioned requirements and you would
like to be Au Pair in Germany, please send us the following
documents:
- The application form with your personal details filled out

be translated into German.
Application
When do I have to apply for being Au Pair? There are no
special deadlines for your application, but you should reckon
with a handling time of about two months. Its duration depends
on your application's attractiveness: The more appealing and
detailed your application is the sooner we will be able to find
a host family for you.
How to apply for being Au Pair? Fill in carefully all
documents and get a character reference, childcare references
and a medical certificate for yourself. Moreover you should
write a kind letter to a host family and put together a page
with photos (showing you with your family, your friends or the
children you cared for). Send us all these documents. If you do
not have our application forms yet, you can either find them on
this homepage or order them from our agency (see "Application
forms").
After having received your application we look for a host
family that is suitable for you. We send them your application
and the family contacts you by phone. Take advantage of this
conversation to ask questions. Moreover you receive detailed
information about this family. Therefore it is important that
you indicate a phone and/or a fax number (it can also be the
number of a neighbour or of your relatives).
If both sides (family and Au Pair) agree the placing comes
about and a contract is concluded. If not, we look for another
family.
Details of importance:
Please contact us regularly by telephone after having sent us
your application. In this way we can as well during the handling
time be sure that you are still interested in being Au Pair in
Germany. Please bear in mind that you do not pay for being
placed in a family - every activity from your part is therefore
welcomed.
